Personal Aspiration

I want to own my own boat and become a sailor some day, which might not be professional. I was born in a seaside city Ningbo, China and lived there for 18 years. Then I spent my 7 college years in another seaside city Dalian. And now I’ve been in Singapore for six years. I feel my life is somehow connected to the blue. During the years, my dream of having a boat has been growing. I simply love water and nothing is better to feel water than cruising in my own boat.

 Life Aspiration

A few decades from now, when I look back at my life, I would like to see myself as a person who had a fairly good career and who really experienced a lot in the world.

Back in 2003, I gave up a chance to start a career in an interesting field and came to Singapore. Having been a student for many years, I did want to start a career. But studying overseas was a great opportunity to see the world.

Looking back after 6 years, I can’t imagine how my life would have been if I made a different choice. But I am sure I like Singapore and South East Asia very much. In here, I make friends from different cultures and speak some Singalish now. During the study in Operation Management program of Nanyang Business School, I had chances to work with agricultural products distributor and shipping operators. Now I have started and focused on a career in energy trading. I really appreciate these precious experiences and hope to get more.
